The company is focusing on carbon neutrality in India through its biogas project. “With the help of local dairy cooperatives, we are developing and building biogas production plants as raw materials. Produced gas will be used for CNG vehicles, which are widely popular in India,” said Suzuki Motor Corporation, a representative and president of Japan.
Emphasizing the socio-economic importance of the project, he said, “Purchase of cow dung will help to improve the income of the people in rural areas where one billion people live, while the national goals of self-reliance in energy and fertilizers will also contribute.” The first biogas plant will be operating in 2025.
Suzuki said, “Naturally available of cows and CNG vehicles – by combining things we already exist – we can contribute to reducing energy consumption,” said Suzuki.
He mentioned that his car and India’s two -wheelers are currently consistent with E20 fuels. In the motorcycle business, a large number of FFV (E55) models have already begun. Development is underway to start the FFV model for automobiles this financial year. Indian Assistant Company Maruti Suzuki, who has more than 42% of the passenger vehicle market, has been pressured to speed up his electrification plans as competent Tata Motors, Hyundai and Mahindra were aggressively pushed into EV. E20 is showing a diverse approach to the flex-fuel car, biogas-based CNG, lightweight and lin-battery EV, Suzuki carbon neutrality. Beyond the biofuels and lightweight, the automaker is preparing to introduce thin-battery electric vehicles suited for the emerging market. The company noted that it has already unveiled the e-adress scooter in India, designed as a light and affordable EV.
Automaker also emphasized the role of the circular economy of India: “We are working on initiatives to reduce environmental effects such as designing, reducing the use of plastic, and increasing the use of recycled materials.”
